Illustration Academy Week One

Hey right now Im attending the Illustration Academy run by the very talented John English, Brent Watkinson, George Pratt, Doug Chayka and their newest addition Jon Foster.

Here is our first assignment "A Slice of Life in Sarasota" were we had to make an image with flat shapes and color. The point of this assignment was to focas on the importance of shape and value in picture making and not relying on line.

This was a project for Illustration, we had to do a celebrity caricature, I chose Hugh Laurie as Dr House. I already turned it in for a grade but i still plan to do touch ups.

Hellboy Project

This was an Illustration project were we had to create ourselves as though we were a character from the hellboy movies. I chose to make myself a crazy peacock/ chicken/ Allie creature. It seemed appropriate at the time.

Nick Cave

Nick Cave, musician, poet, writer... overall bad ass. I present to you folks my shrine to him, small though it may be.
Both pieces were done in Illustration Media last semester, the first is watercolor and marker, the second is an oil rub.
Is a shame he had to grow a mustache and look like a 70's porn star but theres really nothing i can do but die a little inside...
